A recent collaboration with Lizzy Pennington for her dragon-shifter novel 'Kingdom of Beginnings'.
Through reading the manuscript I honed in on the dagger-inflicted scars the protagonist, Kali, suffers early in the book as an excellent metaphor for the trauma she carries and must overcome on her journey.
Illustrating Kali's scarred, twisting dragon tail together with some flourished typography felt like the perfect way to represent the themes within Lizzy's story. And I dare say it looks gorgeous in the wide format illustration!
