Insignitis: Destiny

A magical gothic girly, a protective ginger cat, and wondrous world steeped in Irish mythology. Needless to say this was a fun cover for Leighann Anderson's debut novel and really pushed my animal illustration skills. As cool as the protagonist, Saphira, and her magic is, it was finding reference for Beryl the cat and painting her that was my favourite part of this commission!

Ultimately I feel like the cover evokes the feeling of Saphira uncovering a new magical world and finding her place in it--which is perfect for the story within.
